Sunday 23 October 2016 — Hillary Clinton, Queen of Smut, carpet bombing, and feeding arms to the ISIS, responded to Donald Trump's Gettysburg address Saturday 22 October with a porn star who was hardly able to straight-face the complaint that Donald Trump ten years ago kissed her wihout permission.
It's hard to imagine how much more silly the Clinton cabal can get. It's hard to imagine how great is their contempt for the American voter.
For those not in the know, hugging, kissing, patting bums, and calling each other dear, has been standard practice in New York showbusiness and Hollywood for decades if not generations. Everyone on the scene knows it's just part of the action. So when John Travolta was asked to perform oral sex to get the lead role in Saturday Night Fever he performed and later shrugged it off in a national TV interview as a so-what!
And today we have porn star Jessica Drake with fake tears alleging that Donald Trump sexually harrassed her at a 2006 golf event. She read a statement written by attorney Gloria Alfred in Los Angeles. In case you've missed it, legal eagle Gloria Alfred was a delegate to the Democratic Convention and is part of Hillary's smear team. (More)

Hillary Clinton is the Queen of Smut. Her eager handmaiden is Michelle Obama. In order to distract voters from her disastrous, deadly, role as U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary has attempted to hide behind a smoke screen of Donald Trump's rude and crude behaviour.
Michelle says she's shaken to the core by Donald Trump's words. It follows then, by her calm and silence, that she was cool when Hillary carpet-bombed Libya or when her oh-so-decent husband orders drone missiles that kill far more innocent children, women, and men, than enemy targets.
As secretary of state Hillary betrayed a UN mandate for a no-fly zone over Libya by turning it into carpet bombing thereby destroying an economically viable state led by Muammar Gaddafi in which women could go to university tuition-free and, on graduation, with proven academic qualifications, get a government scholarship to further their studies in a country of their choice. Newlyweds were given a new car, a $50,000 grant, and a place of residence.
Now, never mind going to school, Libyan women are afraid to go out doors for fear of being raped and murdered. (More)

It was Secretary of State Clinton who pressured then-President René Préval to accommodate Michel Martelly in a post-earthquake two-person electoral runoff, which resulted in Martelly becoming president. It was UN special envoy Bill Clinton who met with Martelly ally Sean Penn to address the same issue. “Watching the scene,” wrote Edwidge Danticat in The New Yorker last December, “one is again reminded that Haiti’s version of democracy is often decided in small rooms where no Haitians are present.”
Once the initial wave of surprise . . . oh, wait. There was no wave of surprise. Trump behaves execrably in the company of, and is accused of sexually assaulting, women.
Business journalists who followed Trump closely in the late ’80s and early ’90s do not fall down in stunned amazement upon hearing this news. The Trump story has always been about the crass omnipotence of money and the ability to parlay financial status into sexual power.
In this, Trump does not stand apart from a corporate culture in which women were objets (preferably scantily clad) and there was no need to contain crass talk to the mythic locker room. In describing Trump’s groping, octopus-like behaviour toward her, Jessica Leeds told the New York Times that such behaviour was not uncommon in the world of business. “We accepted it for years,” she told the Times. “We were taught it was our fault.” (More)

My, my. It was another universe.
Nothing about the pounding Hillary took in the second debate. Nothing about the latest email leaks showing extreme collusion between Hillary's camp and the mainstream press. Nothing about Bill's rape accusers taking front and center. Nothing about Hillary threatening those accusers. Nothing about Hillary's role in creating ISIS. Nothing about election pollsters contributing to the Clinton Foundation. Nothing about outrage among FBI agents and DOJ attorneys after failure to prosecute Hillary in the email server crime — thus allowing her to continue her run for the Presidency. Nothing about her failing health. Nothing about polls (that show a Hillary lead) slanted by oversampling Democrats. Nothing about Hillary hiding out once again and avoiding press and public. (More)

Donald Trump turned in perhaps the most effective performance in the history of presidential debates on Sunday night, 09 October.
His first move was to host a press availability, before the debate, where a small sampling of Bill Clinton's alleged victims -- Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, [to whom Bill Clinton paid $850,000 in a court settlement], Juanita Broaddrick -- made brief statements endorsing Trump and denouncing the misogyny of the Clintons.
The press had to cover it. Then the women marched into the auditorium at Washington University to watch Hillary Clinton defend her behavior toward them after their encounters with Bill.
As the moderators and Hillary Clinton scrambled to refocus on Trump's comments of a decade ago, Trump brought it back to Bill's criminal misconduct against women, his lying about it, and Hillary's aiding and abetting of the First Predator.
Hillary Clinton has never been hammered as she was Sunday night, and it showed. Knocked off her game, she was no longer the prim and poised debater of Hofstra University.
There were other signs that, win or lose, Trump intends to finish the campaign as he began, as a populist-nationalist and unapologetic adversary of open borders, globalization and neo-imperialism. (More)

Architects, Scientists, Engineers say only
controlled demolition could collapse towers
On September 11, 2001, the world witnessed the total collapse of three large steel-framed high-rises. Since then, architects, scientists and engineers have been working to understand why and how these unprecedented structural failures occurred.
In August 2002, the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) launched what would become a six-year investigation of the three building failures that occurred on September 11, 2001 (9/11): the well-known collapses of the World Trade Center (WTC) Twin Towers that morning and the lesser-known collapse late that afternoon of the 47-story World Trade Center Building 7, which was not struck by an airplane. NIST conducted its investigation based on the stated premise that the “WTC Towers and WTC 7 [were] the only known cases of total structural collapse in high-rise buildings where fires played a significant role.”
Indeed, neither before nor since 9/11 have fires caused the total collapse of a steel-framed high-rise—nor has any other natural event, with the exception of the 1985 Mexico City earthquake, which toppled a 21-story office building. Otherwise, the only phenomenon capable of collapsing such buildings completely has been by way of a procedure known as controlled demolition, whereby explosives or other devices are used to bring down a structure intentionally. Although NIST finally concluded after several years of investigation that all three collapses on 9/11 were due primarily to fires, fifteen years after the event a growing number of architects, engineers, and scientists are unconvinced by that explanation. Russia foreign ministry representative Zakharova invites
U.S. UN ambassador Power to visit Syria to learn shame
18 September 2016 (RT) — Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, has invited the U.S. ambassador to the UN to visit Syria and see firsthand what “embarrassed” means. This comes after the UN ambassador lashed out at Moscow for hinting the U.S. supports IS after coalition air strikes hit the Syrian Army.
During a speech at an emergency UN Security Council meeting called by Russia to discuss the deadly air strikes delivered by the U.S.-led coalition, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power said that Moscow’s representative should be “embarrassed” for her words suggesting that the strike indicated that Washington is defending Islamic State (IS, former ISIS, ISIL) terrorists.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the strike near the eastern city of Deir ez-Zor that killed 62 Syrian soldiers bordered between “gross negligence” and “direct assistance” to IS. (More)

And while documentation has surfaced showing that Powell gave Hillary some tips on keeping her personal and professional email messages separate, a new trove of leaked emails – Powell’s, not Clinton’s – reveals that Powell was deeply frustrated with her attempts to save herself by drowning him.
“I told her staff three times not to try that gambit,” Powell wrote in one of the leaked emails. “I had to throw a mini tantrum at a Hamptons party to get their attention. She keeps tripping into these ‘character’ minefields.” (More)

So what does this mean for Ottawa? Municipalities in Canada only have a limited set of powers; they don’t have robust taxation authority and have minimal control over markets. Pilot program increases affordable housing options
Portable housing to help survivors of domestic violence
09 September 2016 — Ontario is launching a new pilot program in 22 communities across the province to increase affordable housing options for survivors of domestic violence and their families.
The governments of Canada and Ontario are investing more than $20 million over two years in the Survivors of Domestic Violence Portable Housing Benefit Pilot, which will provide ongoing assistance to approximately 1,000 survivors of domestic violence per year.
Currently, survivors of domestic violence are given priority access to rent-geared-to-income social housing. Survivors enrolled in the new pilot program will have the option to receive a portable housing benefit, so that they can immediately find housing in their community instead of waiting for a social housing unit to become available.
Based on the outcomes of the pilot, Ontario will consider ways to enhance the program and extend the portable housing benefit to other communities.
Affordable Rental Innovation Fund
CMHC now accepting applications
30 August 2016 — Today, the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and the Minister responsible for CMHC, announced that CMHC is now ready to accept applications under the Affordable Rental Innovation Fund.
The Fund, part of Budget 2016 and administered by CMHC, totals $200 million to help create new affordable rental units over five years. Funding will be used to test innovative approaches such as unique housing designs and financial models to lower the costs and risks of financing affordable rental housing projects. CMHC is looking for unique ideas, new funding models and innovative building techniques for the rental housing sector.

Two 'Deplorables' are running for U.S. president
(And what everyone is missing about the contenders)
The U.S. has two 'deplorable’ candidates for president. One is Hillary Clinton with a proven record for being the Go Girl for the military industrial complex.
Aside from other heinous crimes, as U.S. secretary of state she broke faith with the United Nations Security Council that allowed a no-fly zone over Libya and instead engineered carpet bombing of an economically viable country that gave newly married couples a wedding present of $50,000, a place of residence, and a new car. A country that allowed women to go to university tuition-free and, if they qualified academically, the right to pursue their learning with Libyan government scholarships in a country of their choice.
Now Libyan women are afraid to go out doors for fear of being raped and murdered. The country is in the grip of warring factions including the ISIS. This ‘legacy’ also includes Hillary, as secretary of state, feeding lethal arms for Syrian regime-change to Saudi-backed opponents (those of the flaunted beheadings and mass graves) that has resulted in the slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent children, women, and men, and a refugee crisis of millions. Hillary’s legacy? She is a proven monster.
So far, Donald Trump has not killed anyone. The worst that can be said of him, aside from his penchant for ugly, crude, street vernacular, is that against a mist of an unreported number of business successes, he has gone bankrupt four times. But going bankrupt is a part of doing business. A business acquaintance in my Montreal journalism days said to me over lunch one day, “In our community we have a saying, you can’t expect to make your first million until you’ve had your third bankruptcy.” FYI Pepsi-Cola went bankrupt twice before it could find its feet. The ZNLA denounced the behavior of the Mexican government of Enrique Peña Nieto for “rewarding” people whom the rebel organization accuses of perpetuating impunity in the case of the 43 forcibly disappeared students from the Ayotzinapa teachers college.
The National Indigenous Congress together with the ZNLA, issued a statement Thursday 15 September condemning the naming of Tomas Zeron as a government security advisor.

UN report reveals U.S. and EU sanctions are punishing
ordinary Syrians, crippling aid work, while aiding ISIS
28 September 2016 — Internal United Nations assessments obtained by The Intercept reveal that U.S. and European sanctions are punishing ordinary Syrians and crippling aid work during the largest humanitarian emergency since World War II.
The sanctions and war have destabilized every sector of Syria’s economy, transforming a once self-sufficient country into an aid-dependent nation. But aid is hard to come by, with sanctions blocking access to blood safety equipment, medicines, medical devices, food, fuel, water pumps, spare parts for power plants, and more.
In a 40-page internal assessment commissioned to analyze the humanitarian impact of the sanctions, the U.N. describes the U.S. and EU measures as “some of the most complicated and far-reaching sanctions regimes ever imposed.” Detailing a complex system of “unpredictable and time-consuming” financial restrictions and licensing requirements, the report finds that U.S. sanctions are exceptionally harsh “regarding provision of humanitarian aid.”
U.S. sanctions on Syrian banks have made the transfer of funds into the country nearly impossible. Even when a transaction is legal, banks are reluctant to process funds related to Syria for risk of incurring violation fees. This has given rise to an unofficial and unregulated network of money exchanges that lacks transparency, making it easier for extremist groups like ISIS and al Qaeda to divert funds undetected. The difficulty of transferring money is also preventing aid groups from paying local staff and suppliers, which has “delayed or prevented the delivery of development assistance in both government and besieged areas,” according to the report. Consider. While U.S. elites were denouncing Donald Trump as unfit to serve for having compared Miss Universe 1996 to "Miss Piggy" of "The Muppets," the World Trade Organization was validating the principal plank of his platform.
America's allies are cheating and robbing her blind on trade.
According to the WTO, Britain, France, Spain, Germany and the EU pumped $22 billion in illegal subsidies into Airbus to swindle Boeing out of the sale of 375 commercial jets.
Subsidies to the A320 caused lost sales of 271 Boeing 737s, writes journalist Alan Boyle. Subsidies for planes in the twin-aisle market cost the sale of 50 Boeing 767s, 777s and 787s. And subsidies to the A380 cost Boeing the sale of 54 747s. These represent crippling losses for Boeing, a crown jewel of U.S. manufacturing and a critical component of our national defense. (More)
